Fintech Ecosystems of Türkiye and Malta Evaluated
The webinar series, organized by the Finance Office of Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, continues to promote Türkiye’s financial sector capabilities to the foreign countries. While the first of the webinar series was held on 23-24 February 2022 in collaboration with Qatar Financial Centre, the second of the webinar series held on 26 October 2022 in collaboration with various institutions of Malta.
The participants showed great interest in the online event, entitled “Fintech Ecosystems of Malta and Türkiye” organized in collaboration of Finance Office of Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Finance Malta, Malta Enterprise and Tech.mt.
The keynote speeches of the event, which was organized to promote the fintech sectors of Türkiye and Malta, were given by Necip Fazıl Kaymak, Vice President of the Finance Office, and Her Excellency Theresa Cutajar, Ambassador of Malta to Türkiye.
Necip Fazıl Kaymak, Vice President of the Finance Office, mentioned the development of the Turkish fintech ecosystem and the projects carried out by the Finance Office in this manner and he emphasized that while Türkiye’s annual fintech investment was 12 million dollars in 2016, it increased to 64 million dollars in 2022. Mr. Kaymak also pointed out the importance of bilateral cooperation of Türkiye and Malta.
After the institutions of Malta, the event continued with the presentations of Finance Office of Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye İstanbul Financial Center Department Head Dr. Serkan Yüksel, İstanbul Finance and Technology Base Incubation Center and Entrepreneurship Management Director Hasan Kömürcü, Finance Office Project Manager Gencay Karaman and TÖDEB Committee Officer İrem Mutlu regarding İstanbul Financial Center, İstanbul Finance and Technology Base as well as the fintech vision of Türkiye and Malta’s fintech ecosystems.
Finance Office of Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye will continue its webinar series in different countries in the coming period.
