Certificate Ceremony of “Participation Youth Development Special Program” organized by Finance Office was Held

“Participation Youth Development Special Program”, which was implemented for young talents affected by the earthquake, held in İstanbul on 10-16 April 2023 with the partnership of Finance Office and IFCap Building. Within the scope of the program, certificates were delivered to the participants who successfully completed it. 

In the "Participation Youth Development Special Program", organized in person in order to increase the human resource potential in the field of participation finance and to raise awareness and financial literacy in this field, there were 101 participants who were residing in 11 provinces affected by the earthquake, either themselves or their first-degree relatives. There participants were also from the universities in the region who continue their undergraduate, graduate, master's or doctoral education. During the 7-day program, participants were given a total of 25 hours of training on 14 different topics.

In the program that organized with the support of Albaraka Türk, Türkiye Emlak Katılım, Kuveyt Türk, Türkiye Finans, Vakıf Katılım, Ziraat Katılım, HDI Katılım Sigorta, Neova Insurance and Türkiye Katılım Sigorta, 23 different sessions were held with 20 trainers. Various panels were also held in the program with the participation of representatives from the participation finance sector.

"We plan to introduce this field to 10 thousand young people in 5 years”

Speaking at the award ceremony, Finance Office President Prof. Göksel Aşan said that the aim of the program is to increase the human resource potential in the Participation Finance sector within the scope of the İstanbul Financial Center project. Expressing that as the Finance Office, they are very happy to realize the Participation Youth Development Special Program, Mr. Aşan said, “During this one-week period, we saw that the despair after the earthquake gave way to great excitement in our participants. Even providing that is very valuable in itself”.

“150 of our graduates from our first 3 programs started working in Participation Finance institutions”

Yusuf Öztürk, Founding Partner and General Manager of IFCap Building, gave the keynote speech of the ceremony and stated that the program, carried out in partnership with Finance Office, made significant contributions to the human resources infrastructure of the Participation Finance sector and to improving its perception in the society.

Mr. Öztürk made the following assessments:

"The Participation Youth Development Program has been organized since 2021. We have 1,273 graduates in our first 3 programs and 150 of them have started to work in Participation Finance institutions. We shared the idea of conducting an employment-oriented Participation Youth Development Special Program for the youth affected by the 6 February 2023 earthquakes, with our industry players. Seeing that all the stakeholders of the Participation Finance sector supported the project gave us hope for increasing values of Participation Finance. I would like to thank all our stakeholders”.

“I believe that I will contribute to the sector by using the knowledge I gained from this program and my own experience together”

Erva Cennet, a graduate of the Department of Economics of Istanbul Medeniyet University, one of the program participants, stated that when she saw that a program was opened for ones from the earthquake provinces she applied it and said, "This program was much better than the programs I have attended so far. Since we came from the earthquake region, we were welcomed with a special attention and interest. We had the opportunity to come together with people who make a great contribution to the sector. We gained useful information about the sector. Since I did not plan to work in conventional banks, I turned to the field of Participation Finance”.

Sakarya University of Applied Sciences Civil Engineering Department Ph.D. Student İlknur Beşken Karabıyıkoğlu stated that she learned the program through an advertisement she saw on the internet, and said, "I want to advance in the field of Participation Finance. I believe that I will contribute to the sector by using the knowledge I gained from this program and my own experience together. 5 hours of training per day from the experts of the sector. It has been a very useful program.”
